How the Ontario market works

Ontario opened its regulated online casino market on 4 April 2022. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) registers operators and enforces the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming; iGaming Ontario contracts with them and publishes the list of regulated sites. Pragmatic Play is among the suppliers whose games, including Sugar Rush, appear in Ontario lobbies.

How to check that a casino is legal

  1. Open the iGaming Ontario operator directory.
  2. Search the casino brand — it must appear with its operating company.
  3. On the casino site, look for the iGaming Ontario logo and the AGCO registration in the footer.
  4. Ontario sites usually run on a dedicated domain or sub-domain for Ontario players.

What is different for Ontario players

  • No public bonus advertising: under AGCO Standard 2.05, bonuses and inducements can only be shown on the operator's own site or in direct marketing you agreed to. That's why this site shows no offers for Ontario.
  • No athletes or content appealing to minors in gambling advertising (except responsible-gambling messages).
  • Responsible gambling tools are mandatory: deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. iGaming Ontario also offers a tool to opt out of all regulated online gambling in the province.
  • Bonus buy and special bets may be disabled by the operator — the button simply won't appear.
